Painting Away

"Yard Work"

I spent the afternoon painting and trying to get a little ahead so I won't have to post my sold paintings from the past.  I'm not complaining, I am so happy to be back in my cozy art room!  I am ok with posting this older work, it's been sold for awhile and it gives me a chance to see it again.

"In Between Tween"

Busy, busy busy.  Having just finished up several weeks of painting on the traffic box murals,  I have loads of housework washing over me, and I have to hit the road painting as I have 13 paintings I am doing for the Gilroy Garlic Festival.  The fest is giving them as gifts to the Garlic Cook-off contestants and judges. On top of that, it is also my biggest show of the year and I want to have lots of new paintings for my booth.   I have to say I won't have anything current to post on my daily paint works site, for a little bit of time. So, this is a painting I did a few years ago.  I love it because it's my daughter Kyle, when she was just about to go into 6th grade.  She was still a little girl, but eager to be a teen.  She is almost 16 now and she is amazing, I have to say.

Done!

All four sides of my second traffic box mural are complete.  Wow, I feel good. It was a great experience for me.  I think the universe sent me this commission as I now am going to start on 13 original paintings for the Gilroy Garlic Festival.  They will be given as gifts to the Garlic Cook-off chefs and judges.  I will be in my comfortable studio and any time it seems difficult I will remember painting in the heat with a helping of wind, traffic, bugs and sticky paint I can't keep wet... and it will get easy ; )  I am also going to be busy painting for my own art booth at the fest, it's a really busy time for me.  I love it.

Almost to the Finish Line

 The Fourth Side
Tattoos
HOT!!!!!!

I finished the fourth side of the traffic box today.  Then I decided to add some flying creatures, butterflies and such.  I wanted to add a few more but as you can see from the third photo, it was #$%#%$!!! HOT.  I will head out again in the early hours and finish it up when it's cool and the paint moves.   People walking and driving by have been so kind, encouraging and really sweet, people even stopped and brought me drinks.  This was a pretty fun experience!
