These hills around where I live, do not stay green like this for long. As soon as it starts warming up they turn to a golden brown, ochre color. I think that's why I wanted to paint this, I love it when it has just rained, the hills are bright yellow-green and it's kinda warm, makes for a beautiful day.
I live in the suburbs, but surrounding me are the Santa Cruz mountains and beautiful hillsides. I love to walk to this spot, there are lots of very nice houses on the way, I could only dream of living in : ) When I get to the top of the hill I can see the super kelly green golf course and the mountains in the background. It's really pretty. Worth the climb.
