Sea of Pink

"Sea of Pink"

This was a departure from the garlic paintings I am working on. I  finished 4 this week and I have 9 more to go.   I need to work on a different subject, so I won't burn out on garlics and also so I  have art to sell for my own booth at this year's Gilroy Garlic Festival.  I am in a sea of paint is what I'm in ; )

Built to Last

"Built to Last"

I shop sometimes, at a little old grocery store that is family owned and has been around forever.  It's called "Rocca's".  Next door to them is a bunch of storage buildings and there is always this beautiful old car parked there.  I really can't do it justice, she is so beautiful, but I wanted to try.

The Big Cheese

"The Big Cheese"

I always wonder what it's like to be the BIG CHEESE, they seem to  know exactly where they are going and what they need to do to get there.  For me, it's a walk in the dark, I am only sure about a few things: That I love being an artist, I love my husband, my kids, my family, my life.  I guess I am alright being the little cheese, because these are the things that matter the most to me, I am ok not being so powerful,  just happy.

Busy!

"I've got places to be and things to do!"

Chickens, they are so expressive.  I love their body language and can usually see the title for the painting by how they are moving.  I feel like this chicken looks, she is on a mission.  So am I, so much to do in a short amount of time.  I want to make sure my paintings I am doing for the Gilroy Garlic Festival are the best they can be, plus paint for my upcoming show at the Garlic Fest and I sure wish I had more time.  My brushes are getting a work-out this month!

The Simple Life

"Little Blue House at Hoey Ranch"

This little house behind the Barn at Hoey ranch really stands out.  It's this robin egg blue color and so tiny.  It reminds me of a simpler time when people didn't need huge closets or a garage or an internet connection ; )

Vintage

"Moose the Barn Cat"

I just took a collection of my mini paintings to the Hoey Barn in Gilroy.   I have been looking for another gallery/store to have my mini paintings in.  I wanted to sell them somewhere that they would fit.  I found it here, this place has a soul.  Debbie and Jim Hoey have a collection of some really interesting vintage treasures.  They are also very welcoming and down to earth, which I like.  I think my paintings look at home in this magical place ; )  This is their cat, Moose.  I got lots of great material to paint just hanging out there!  I love where I live.
