"Angel Baby"

I wasn't able to post last night, computer was messing with me.  Scary how dependent we are on them! So all is better today.  I am trying to take a vacation, but how can I take a vacation from art!  It's really hard. I do need one though, the traffic boxes, the 13 garlic paintings, getting ready for my biggest show of the year, made me kinda tired.  I am spending the weekend with my favorite person in the universe, my husband Mike.  We are celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary which is officially August 5th.  He is the best husband, father, friend and art supporter in the world, love him to pieces.

"Bringing Home the Bacon"

We named this Robin "Lupe", because she was totally loopy!! She would dive bomb our windows constantly, I guess she thought there was another bird, that looked just like her, trying to take over her territory.  She and her mate ended up making a nest in our rose bush.  We got to watch the whole cycle of them building a nest, to them forcing the babies out of the nest.  Lupe was a good mom, she was always coming home with a giant worm in her mouth for her baby birds.

"Slow and Steady"

I really admire these creatures, slow and steady but they get there!  I am a little overwhelmed by all that I have to do, I put so many domestic chores off trying to get ready for the Garlic Festival.  So I am going to be like this turtle and just move ahead, completing one task at a time.  Pretty soon I will be able to see the light and I will be back in my art room, painting new paintings. I will move ahead, slow and steady : D

"Farm Fresh Eggs"

These are about as fresh as they come!  Once you have eaten farm fresh eggs, it's pretty hard to go back to store bought.  Farm fresh have a huge, firm, deep-yellow yoke.  It's a shame to scramble them, you have to have them sunnyside up : )

"That's What I'm Talkin' About"

All three of the paintings I mined from my visit to Margie's barn sold at this weekend's Gilroy Garlic Festival.  I am so happy that all three of these paintings went to the same home.  I paint in a series, but I sell paintings separately.  I am thrilled that this nice lady, Tracy, wanted all three.  She has her own chickens and really enjoys taking care of them.  We had a great conversation with her and her husband John.  That's part of the fun of having my booth at the G. Fest, I get to meet some really great folks. I sold lots of paintings to some interesting people this weekend I will share more of my experiences in this weeks upcoming blogs.
