On the outside, looking in...

This is the watercolor I won Best of show for, I was so excited!

This is me (on the left) and my very valued helper, Kristina, at the Gilroy Garlic Festival 2009
Wow, I had a great art year in 2009, but I am sad to say I let my poor art blog wither, Yikes.
Just a short update since I was last here.  I started off 2009 with the Touch my Heart show in Los Gatos.  I participated in Open Studio in May.  I was then juried into the Gilroy Garlic festival so I could sell my art there.  I spent the next weeks after open studio preparing for the festival in July.  I also finally started my web site right before the festival.  It went very well, which was a big relief for me, since it was such a large festival and only my second one. I received some commisions from that show as well.  In September I was so happy to have my booth at Satori winery in Gilroy (which by the way was my favorite place to sell my art  so far!) Then in October it was the Gilroy art and Wine festival.  The annual art show was the same weekend and I won some prizes, including Best of show.  It was a great honor considering the really beautiful art that was entered.   Novemeber I had my booth at the art and wine boutique at  Fortino's winery in Gilroy and last but not least, Leedo Gallery had their open house the first week in December, whew!  I spent the rest of December finishing up my commisions.  So even though no excuses allowed, for ignoring the blog, it was a pretty busy year.  I loved it though, so happy to be painting as much as possible.  I also met some really great folks at the festivals I was in.  I have to say I am a recluse a lot of the time, as painting is a solitary affair, so it was nice to come out of my cave and get to meet other people.
