Construction Site
These boys are so busy! I think I know how they feel, enjoying your work but having lots of it to do. I am down to my last two commissions..for, I won't say forever, but it would have to be special. I have been painting for hire about twenty years now and have many commissions under my belt. I really feel it's time to paint the subjects that excite me. I have enjoyed painting for others, the people, pets, places, cars, trains and boats but there is always the pressure of... is this what they really want? I have never had a bad experience thankfully, and so I feel it's a good time to stop. I do have some major commitments to paint, two traffic boxes for the city and another project for the Gilroy Garlic Festival again, but they are giving me the freedom to paint my own designs, so it seems like that's a win-win. After these projects, I am looking forward to painting for my DPW site, my galleries and shows, can't wait!!!!

Vintage Mod
Thank you David Marine for doing such an excellent job, making dailypaintworks a great site to be on. Love the new gadget! I enjoy each morning going through the site and viewing all the beautiful art then being able to comment on the ones that catch my eye, really fun. I also am loving the challenge of painting daily and being a part of this awesome site.

Febuary the two-lip month
I was telling a very dear friend of mine, Cheryl, that I really needed to make a go of my art biz. I have a really talented smart daughter who wants to go to a good college. She told me to pray to the moon, when it was full. Well, I did, and jeez, since I have my business has been booming! I am hoping it is also because maybe the economy is doing a bit better...I hope so. Anyway, thank you moon, and thank you Cheryl. I sold 5 paintings on DPW this week! Would have sold six but two people wanted the same one. It is so exciting, I LOVE what I do and I am so grateful I get to keep doing it. Best job in the universe!

Words have Power
I like the title of this painting, I have a lot of word play fun thinking of titles, I love that part. Artrepreneur, saw this term and wow, I wished I had thought of it first, I am going to steal it!
I decided that it would be good to have my mini paintings in shops and at the Gilroy Center for the Arts in between my shows. Took a collection of Valentine themed paintings to Fast Frame in Morgan Hill, very cute little frame shop. Taking another group to the art center. Watercolors are on display at the Gilroy City Hall and have had sales on DPW. So far the art gods have blessed me with a good start to 2012, I am very thankful : )

Breaking the Fall..
The colors of this season are my favorite, rich deep yellows, burnt oranges, golden browns, apple reds, cool purples and splashes of brilliant blues and vibrant greens. There is a lot of paint being splashed around my studio : ) If you happen to be in the area, I will be at the newly renovated Gilroy Center for the Arts, 7341 Monterey street, Gilroy, CA, this weekend Oct 15th, 16th 10am to 4pm. If you aren't close to Gilroy, check out wwwdailypaintworks.com/ I joined this daily paint site in late summer and I have been posting a painting a day. I thought I was plenty ahead, but 7 days a week catches up fast, so I am off to my studio to paint some more, poor me : ),
Happy Autumn!
